Root Gas 93/7
Root Gas 93/7 is a nitrogen–hydrogen mixture used to protect the weld root. The reducing effect of hydrogen prevents oxidation (discolouration) on the back of the weld. It is used for back-purging, particularly on stainless pipe and tank welding.
